The book «Sete Círculos / Seven Circles», edited by Pedro Campos Costa and Eduardo Costa Pinto, aims to question the limits of the contemporary city from a new reading of the territory of Lisbon. These seven circles are concentric, with the center at Praça Marquês de Pombal. While Tiago Casanova photographed the smaller circle, corresponding to the old Fernandina wall and Duarte Belo photographed the larger circle, bounded by the hydrographic basin of the Tagus river, the editors photographed the intermediate circles. For each of the circles, two authors from different disciplinary areas were invited, thus creating different perspectives on the city of Lisbon:

C1. Historian José Sarmento de Matos and architect Gonçalo Byrne;
C2. Landscape architect João Nunes and writer Gonçalo M. Tavares;
C3. Architect Javier Arpa Fernandez and artist Filippo Minelli;
C4. Engineer Mário Alves and researcher Olivia Bina;
C5. Philosopher Adriana Veríssimo Serrão and geographer Francesc Muñoz;
C6. Urbanist Michael Sorkin and geographer Álvaro Domingues;
C7. Landscape architect Mary Bowman and geographer Eduardo Brito-Henriques.
